Clash of Clans OP Attack Strategy Breakdown: Destroying a Box Base

Attack Breakdown – Crushing the Box Base

The original plan here was to send the Royal Champion in from the top to clear out that section and grab the Town Hall. Then, I planned to send in the Queen and the Minion Prince from the bottom. The Queen's Magic Archer would clip the air defense and the sweeper, while the Minion Prince would clear his section. After that, the Dragons would sweep in from the side.

But that didn’t really work out. The Royal Champion didn’t go exactly where I intended. Still, it all kind of worked out—we had to improvise on the fly.

I usually like sending the Royal Champion in to get the Rage Towers since there’s always heavy defense packed in there. If you can get the Rage Tower section with her, it makes a big difference. Ideally, she also funnels toward the Town Hall. Sometimes that’s tricky with walls wrapping around the core, but if she grabs it, that’s a big help.

In this attack, she cleared the most important section early on. I used her ability right away and had a Rage Vial on her. I try to activate it early—if I wait too long, I can’t hit the Invisibility Spells in time. My reaction time’s getting slower, so I like to play it safe.

She didn’t reach the Town Hall this time, but she did take out the air sweeper, which was still key. I kept dropping invis spells faster than the four-second cycle because her Electro Boots were clearing defenses quickly.

I had to adjust a bit. I sent the Queen down to try to grab the air defenses but missed both. Still, it worked out. The Dragons came in from the top like I originally planned, sweeping through the base.

I waited to send in the Minion Prince until the Pekkas were tanking the Monolith. He did a good job clearing his area once he was in. I popped the Warden’s ability to protect the Dragons from the Town Hall blast. That Town Hall can really chew through Dragons if you're not fast with the Warden.

The Minion Prince didn’t get as far as I’d hoped—two defending heroes I’d overlooked took him down. But he cleared enough to help.

The Queen went down early too. I like keeping her alive for cleaning up the back of the base, but it was still okay. I had enough Dragons left to finish the job.

One thing I’d change: I’d replace the Siege Barracks with the Troop Launcher. The Launcher shoots out Giants to help protect the Queen longer, and Wall Breakers to speed up her push. When the Pekkas go down, the Queen’s often left exposed. The Launcher could really help with that.

At the end, I just show the items I'm using on all the Champions so you can get a better idea of the full army setup.
