I set trends. I don't follow them
I chose this title because I was looking for a witty quote or some type of pun for my video title and I came across like 1000 people saying "I set trends. I don't follow them." all I could think was "Saying this is a trend." It's a trend we all went through in middle or high school but wow was not being trendy super trendy. Unless you were one of the cool kids and being trendy was trendy.
Anyway, following trends is like soup's important. Like I'm for real.
For real, these are like soup boring so I'm just going to list them below. If you need more information contact me and I'll update the page. I'm mostly on email at john.gruber@gitbit.org
Trendsetters unite! Please for the love of God...
I feel like there are always 5 trends going on and by the time I hear about one it's like over. But I digress. Catching the trend early is super important. Imagine setting the Whatever trend today. You'd blow up on Facebook, or Twitter, or Vine, or TakTik. Whatever the new trendy social media is.
So the first is the most simple: What are the most ENGAGEMENT types of CONTENT on PLATFORM recently? Here's an example What are the most engaged tweets on Twitter recently Etc. etc.
You can get more granular with What are the most ENGAGEMENT types of CONTENT on PLATFORM recently about TOPIC?
Okay, here's a good one. "Reaction videos" so I might create a video on Humans vs AI and then record normal people's reactions to it. People that are like "Oh, that's cool" or "That's nice" people that aren't over the top with their reactions. Then I'll react to their reactions. Or I'll say "Cut! We need something more over the top. Like I just found the cure for cancer... Action!" And then let them react again.
