The sales pitch and notes about the course
The sales pitch:
Microsoft Copilot is an AI tool from Microsoft that helps you be more productive. It’s similar to ChatGPT and Gemini because it has a chat function, but it does much more.
Copilot works with apps you probably already use, like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. It also has coding features thanks to Microsoft’s purchase of GitHub. However, some of these services require payment. In this course, we’ll focus on the free version of Microsoft Copilot.
In short, Copilot is like having an assistant that's merged with Google. It has virtually all the answers and all you have to do is ask.
So how do you access Copilot? Through a chat prompt. Very similar to text messages or a messenger app like Facebook. In short, you send it some text and it replies.
Important Notes:
- This course is made up of short videos. Feel free to skip around and watch only what you need! Each video has text below it where you can copy and paste prompts or read along.
- Prompts (what I’m asking Copilot) are always in bold. You can copy and paste the bold parts into Copilot to see the results.
- Parts of the prompts in ALL CAPS are the parts you should replace. For example, if you see “Please help me create a tweet about TOPIC,” replace “TOPIC” with whatever you want the tweet to be about and type the bold part into Copilot.
Anyway, you know what they say: "The secret to boiling an egg is boiling the water first." So let's get started.
