Write my email for me

I don't like fluff, small talk, whatever you call it. I'm as direct as they come. Some people appreciate it. Some people find I come off a bit rude, or short, or angry. I'm just not good at small talk and getting dirty in the details. So, sometimes, it's nice to have someone else there to type up the email and add the fluff for me. Especially when you can talk to it.

Here's my current prompt: "Can you draft a professional email to PERSON_TITLE_OR_RELATIONSHIP, PERSONS_NAME? Keep the tone friendly and gracious. Let him know X was done. Let him know the result of that was Y. Lastly, let him know next steps are Z."

Notice I have my goal, context, expectations, and no source. As I said the source is not always necessary. When writing is the goal, I tend to always set the tone. If you don't it can come off a bit robotic or AIy.

Also note, this is one thing I learned at my current company. In professional communication always add three things:

  1. What was done
  2. What was the result
  3. What are next steps
